These are three illustrations I made for the new Hard//hoofd magazine, called 'Sorry.' Jorne Vriend wrote an article to show what the ripple effects are of our colonial past with South Africa. The 'Apartheid' and economical divide are enormous socio-political and economical problems that we took a part in in creating, so how are we gonna respond? Should we do more than be sorry? I took some inspiration from a few townships in Capetown to make these illustrations, including the Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum, which is a more commercial way to experience slavery and intense life of the factory workers. I enjoyed making the story of Jorne come to life.
